Yes. Multiply both sides by 5/4 to isolate y, and then by -1 to make y positive.

-4/5y = 4/15
-4/5y (5/4) = 4/15 (5/4)
-y = 20/60
-y = 1/3
-y (-1) = 1/3 (-1)
y = -1/3

Yes it is! Solution basically means "the right answer that fits".
-1/3 * -4/5 does equal 4/15. Why? When multiplying fractions, multiply straight across. Easy. Remember since 1/3 is neg. and 4/5 is neg. then the answer is a positive.

i would think so...... -y = ?, meaning what is the equivalent of -y... and a -y is equal to -y, so i think - is a solution of the equation.
