What a time to have a bad case of Braxton Hicks contractions, huh? The good news is, though, that Braxton Hicks contractions can trigger actual labor is the conditions are right, which, in your case, they are.
Labor hurts, babe, but I hope that no one promised you a walk in the park. You can punch them later if they did.
The good news, though, is once your water breaks, and you have dilated 4 centimeters, you have the option for pain relief if it gets too bad. If you can do it without it, you're more of a woman than I am. With my first, I did it au-natural. With this one? Give me the drugs, baby.
It's going to hurt worse once your water breaks, so if you took the deep breathing lessons, I would suggest that you apply them. The contractions will get worse.
You'll forget about it, though, once you see your baby. It's almost done!
Congratulations, and good luck. BREATHE.

You may have had the baby when you read this.Braxton Hix is also called false labor.Yes it hurts ! But there are no two pregnancies alike. They have guidelines (they meaning medical personel )they go by.Some women don't have severe pain just a twinge.Others feel like they are going to snap in two. I can tell you this ,as a rule of thumb the harder the labor the sooner you will be holding it.More curious than anything else. Then you'll be starving to death and if you smoke ,you earned it.Good luck!!

As long as the pains are not regular, then you arent' having the baby any time soon. It's unpredictable how long it will take.
Try taking a warm bath or shower to ease some of the pain. If you have a partner with you, have them do some light and gentle massage over the areas that are sore.
Walk and shift positions often to keep your muscles from stiffenin up.
Good luck. You'll have that baby in the next few days.

just go straight to the hospital ASAP. Sometimes you have to exaggerate a little bit before they'll do anything for you that actually helps. The hospital staff don't know you, or your body.
When I had my 2nd baby, i woke up at 2am with contractions. My husband rang the hospital straightaway, as my 1st was delivered in 6 hours, from start to finish. They said not to come in till i was 5 minutes apart too. They wouldn't listen to my husband. At 3.30am, my waters broke, he called again, but i was still contracting 10 minutes apart. I never made it to the hospital with her. Suddenly, I went from 10 minutes, to 8, to 4, to 2, just like that! she was born on our bed, at 6am, and LUCKY, the ambos got there in time to catch her. So i would say GO NOW! because you just never know what's gonna happen.

For my second child I was like that for 2 days. My doctor would tell me to go to the hospital, then they would send me home. Finally, once my water broke, it went real quick. Maybe your body is getting ready, and you will have a faster true labor b/c of it.

You're already in labor, and I wouldn't go too much longer before having a doctor involved if it has been 4 days. You don't want any undue stress for your baby.

You could have your husband reach in and see how many fingers dialated you are now. Also have him scrap a little around in there and see if he pushes you into labor. Sounds gross but also sounds like you are ready:-)

Sounds like you are already in labor but I guess they don't want you at the hospital until you're almost ready to have the baby.

You may be having braxton hicks, which is considered false labor. You are most likely getting very close, I would just listen to your midwife.
Goodluck and congratulations.
