Nothing, most infant seats work better with lap belts, if you use a shoulder belt you have to worry about putting a little metal clip on your seatbelt to hold it together to make it more like a lap belt. We always use the middle lap belt in cars when we can for our seats. Much easier The info that came with our car seat said to use lap belts if available.

Your supposed to put the infant seat in the middle of the back seat anyway and use the lap belt....
So don't worry about it!
If your car doesn't have a middle belt, then put the carseat on the side....
I'm sure there is a belt safety place in your county, call your local police department, they will tell you where there is one.
THAT is the safest thing to do!
Good luck!

Buy the old school child seats. Some were made to fit in the middle of the seat. Where you put the seat belt in the back. Get one of those. Aren't safe as the huge ones, but it works.

Your car's fine as long as the middle lap belt is functioning properly. There are also little metal clips that you can buy (sometimes they come with the seat) that make sure the belt does not loosen over time.
