Area 51 (currently known as Air Force Flight Test Center, Detachment 3 and also known as Dreamland, Watertown Strip, Paradise Ranch, The Box, Groom Lake) is a remote tract of land in southern Nevada, owned by the United States Air Force, containing an airfield whose primary purpose is the secret development and testing of new military aircraft. It is famed as the subject of many UFO conspiracy theories.
UFO and other conspiracy theories concerning Area 51
Its secretive nature and undoubted connection to classified aircraft research, together with reports of unusual phenomena, have led Area 51 to become a centerpiece of modern UFO and conspiracy theory. Some of the unconventional activities claimed to be underway at Area 51 include:
The storage, examination, and reverse engineering of crashed alien spacecraft (including material supposedly recovered at Roswell), the study of their occupants (living and dead), and the manufacture of aircraft based on alien technology.
Meetings or joint undertakings with extraterrestrials.
The development of exotic energy weapons (for SDI applications or otherwise) or means of weather control.
The development of time travel technology.
Activities related to a supposed shadowy one world government.
Many of the theories concern underground facilities at Groom or at nearby Papoose Lake, and include claims of a transcontinental underground railroad system, a disappearing airstrip (nicknamed the "Cheshire Airstrip", after Lewis Carroll's Cheshire cat) which briefly appears when water is sprayed onto its camouflaged asphalt [10], and engineering based on alien technology. In 1989, Bob Lazar claimed that he had worked at a facility at Papoose Lake (which he called S-4) on such a U.S. Government flying saucer.
One major theory is that Area 51 is a place which simulates the environment of the moon. In 2000-2001, Fox Television broadcast a show about Apollo moon landing hoax accusations, in which it was suggested that the whole moon landing in 1969 was a hoax and was filmed in parts of Area 51.
Others, however, claim that during the mid 1990s, the most secret work previously done at Groom was quietly moved to other facilities, including Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, and that the continued secrecy around Groom is largely a successful attempt at misdirection[11].
In July 1996, a man named Victor came forward and said on Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM radio show that he had a videotape of an alien interrogation. He said that he copied the tape and smuggled the copy out of Area 51. The video showed the head of an alien in a dark room, possibly using telepathy to communicate with military personnel and scientists[12] and was eventually included in a documentary entitled Area 51:

"Area 51" is where the US Government developed the technologies that resulted iin the Stealth Jets and the Stealth Bombers (among other things) that the military has today. In order to keep people from being suspicious of what they were doing (so that word did not get out and attract foreign spies) the 'intelligence' folks circulated stories about aliens & spaceships, knowing that Soviet spies would be too smart to believe in such nonsense, and would think reports of "lights in the sky" were just coming from nutty Americans. Additionally, those nutty Americans wouldn't kick up any fuss about an apparently "hidden budget" that must be funding whatever was going on so long as they thought it might be little green men, and not Airman First Class Joe Blow in a new secret toy. Area 51 and the very similar "Roswell Incident" are two examples of such excellent government handling of cutting edge military technology that it's a great shame they stand out the way they do.

Area 51 is a closed off section in Nevada. A testing site for the government but some believe there is much more behind that site that than the government is letting on stuff dealing with UFOs.
No stories here but I have read up on it that there are signs all over that area fenced off that threaten that if you cross over to area 51 you will be shot. hm mm...now what could be back there that you could loose your life for just sneaking in?

Area 51 is an area where they test new powerful government planes that are much stronger tha n other planes. Since people who know this info could copy or counter the design for enemies, it is off limits. Some believe that aliens from the Roswell incident are being kept there, but no one who has been in 51 has said anything about that amnd denies it.

Area 51 is a closed fence area belonging to the Government. Alot of our new planes are tested there.... It has been a hush hush area...It is something that the Government isn`t telling us! Its located in Nevada. My hubby was stationed in the air force in Rosewell New Mexico in 1956 to 1957 and he never heard any rumors about the Aliens. He stated he never heard anything about the ufo and aliens.

i dont know anything knew
but 1n 1949 an alien spacecraft crashed in roswell new mexico and the military said it was a weather baloon but first the news papers said it was extrateresriallife but the residents claimed the military threatened them like the radio ststions by taking their public viewing licence
and the entire government denies the whole thing as hoax and still claims its a weather balloon and somepeople belive its a secret military baes where they took the space craft and studied it and now test crazy high tech weapons and air craft at night because people see strange light out inthe desert in that area
and there is an area51 ive seen it on tv but they wont let any one i and have signs saying resticted government porpety violators will be shot.
i think its just where the presdent goes to act like he know something noone else does seems like the government would do after the old west.
as a parody or entertainment because we still trust the givernment
i just dont know why i dont believe in aliens

I believe I might have passed it in Nevada. It's an area that supposed to be top secret. Allegedly the remains of aliens that crashed on the earth in the late 1940's are there.
