You no longer even have to pretend you find young people, music or fashion even remotely interesting. You can live your life exactly the way you want to.

Well let`s see....the next 40 years will not have any of the angst that the first 40 did. It is a more carefree time. Most people at this age are bale to put their time and energy into the maintenance in life...no dating...kids are not in diapers...personal interests are able to be enjoyed, and usually you have a much more satisfying sex life because you are free to do whatever you want(depending on your state in life). Most people`s bodies are mature and can do what they want it to do...so run a marathon...go sea kyaking or mountain bikeing. Enjoy!

I don't see any big deal with 40. So many people loose out on so much in life because they are so concerned about their age. You can't stop it. It's an excersise in futility to worry about things we can't control. Be happy and gratefull for each and every day of your live and treasure them. I'm 64. Have a nice day.
