I am out of the playoff race in my league but a guy who is in the hunt for the 8th seed and final playoff spot has offered me the following deal.
Anthony Thomas, Greg Jennings, Edgerrin James, and Willis McGahee
for
Tiki Barber, DeAngelo Williams, and Matt Bryant
Should I do this deal or is this not fair a deal and turn it down because it seems shady?

I'm going to assume this is NOT a keeper league, and your question is just to see if its ethical to make a trade when you are out of the playoff chance...right? If its not a keeper league, then I do question the reasoning for the trade. Especially if this is a good buddy of yours. He's getting an every week #1 RB in Barber for all of his bench players. The guys you're getting are OK, but the only one resembling a first rounder is injured, and possibly out for the rest of the year (McGahee). If you were to shop Tiki to all of the teams for a few days, then take what you feel is the best offer... I'd still question the reason for a trade unless your 0-10 team is trying to pick up a quality keeper.

Ethics play a small role in your decision, but in reality, this trade is not a blockbuster deal. If you want my opinion, it's a bad trade for you, as you are giving up a proven starter in Tiki and a guy that still has potential in Williams. In return you get an injured back, his replacement that was cut from his last team, jennings, who has potential, and James, who I'm sure will be playing his heart out with them out of the playoff race(sarcasm). Don't give up Tiki, who is a sure start every week, for a bunch of question marks.

First make sure you are out of the playoffs for sure. the season is only half over,I won 1st place last year with a team that started 0-5. I won my last 8 weeks in a row so if you have even an outside chance then it is a bad deal for you. Stick it out until you are mathematically out of the playoffs.

Absolutely take this. You get A-Train and Mcgahee, one of them will start for the rest of the year. The Edge willhave some good games due to his schedule. Greg Jennings is Farves fave target. Tiki got hurt Sunday night and is wearing a cast. Williams has been hurt and looked terrible Monday. And you can always get a kicker on waivers.

Are you certain you are out of the playoff race? With 8 teams making the playoffs in your leage....I would wait until you are "mathematically" eliminated from the playoffs. Anything can happen in fantasy games and while it may look bleak right now...you may still have a chance at the playoffs.

You should help the guy fighting for his playoff life. If you were in contention, wouldn't you want a little edge?
