I work in an office with no windows and would love to have a plant. Are there any indoor plants that don't need much sunlight?

Here is a site that lists a variety of plants that will grow in low light.
Good luck.

I would suggest a grow-light. Any plant will need more than the standard flourescent lighting in offices. Some good choices for low light levels are snake plants, golden pothos, purple wandering jew, swedish ivy, philodendron.

I have a friend who also works in an office w/ no windows. She has some fabulous African Violets that are even blooming. I think if you have plenty of fluorescent lights, most house plants would do well. Some examples would be zeze plant, philodendron, pony tail palm and dracena.

Mushrooms?

Seriously... there are some small grow lamps made specifically for indoor/desk plants...

With one of these, you could take your pick...

Alternatively.... maybe try a cactus or some other type of succulent. Take them home with you periodically to get some real light... then to the office to go dormant for awhile...
