I'd say 70 to 80% at this stage. Yet they look so much more beautiful in skirts or dresses
It's such a shame

Is the cold really an issue in a society where we go from house to car to work to car to shop to car to home and we barely see the outside world

I do agree with you, women don't seem to be as feminine as they used to be.

I must admit I do wear trousers alot but only because I don't like my legs, however when I do wear a skirt or dress I get lots of compliments.

My New Years resolution will be to wear skirts/dresses more often.

Thank you for saying that women look more beautiful in skirts or dresses; it shows an appreciation for the feminine form. But remember, women also no longer wear hats, gloves, or pearls anymore, and membership is most women's leagues has sharply declined over the past two to three decades. Styles evolve over time and cultures, and in this day and age, 'more attractive' is not necessarily a priority. For the first time in a few thousand years, most of the women of the world are liberated, and 'being beautiful' or 'catching a husband' are no longer priorities. From the first time Coco Chanel wore a pant suit to a Polo event, women have created their own feminine versions of a number of male styles. Trousers are here to stay. Why don't you try to look for all of the beauty that women have, instead of looking at what they wear?

And, simply as a segue, you can't say that Angelina Jolie did not look hotter than ever in the men's cut tuxedo she wore to a film festival a couple of years back.

1. May have nasty pale legs. A la me.
2. Risk going up an escalator/stairs, and having someone look up our dress/skirt. We may not be wearing any knickers!
3. It's cold.
4. If 1,2,3 make you suggest tights/stockings, maybe we can't be bothered to wear them, and fiddle about with suspenders.
5. More chance of some pervert copping a feel.

To Bards Babe, to level it out in the workplace, men should be made to wear skirts, that way women don't have feel they have to be masculine to get anywhere.

I like wearing skirts, I just prefer good old jeans, because you can wear any top with them.

Why don't you try wearing a skirt in the middle of winter. Waiting on a windy train platform. Brrrrr!!!! I kind of agree though. I feel much more feminine wearing a skirt.

Additional details: The cold is an issue. I go to work in London via train and Tube, not by car. Are you telling me that you wear the same clothes in winter as you do in summer? Shorts and flip-flops? Are you mad?

Men use to be obsessed with a hair-piece because if was the FASHION to be with hair... so if you can answer THAT question... then you will find that women will no longer be shunned or kicked out of places because of wearing trousers. Women of old wore skirts... but really long ones with servicable shoes and really warm knee-highs or thick stockings... but as the fashion made skirts shorter and thinner... which made the legs colder and dorkier with knee-highs and thick stockings... so women FROZE. So now that it is acceptable to wear pants... especially jeans.. THEY DO wear them to stay warm! Plus it's darn more comfortable. I agree that women are prettier in skirts, but when was the last time you walked around in a kilt in winter?

Because if they wear DRESSES, they have to shave their legs, wear different shoes (usually more uncomfortable), wear tight pantyhose, hold their skirt down if the wind is blowing, sit with their knees together or crossed, be careful bending over, and in the winter, skirts are no protection against the temperature. Also, dresses/skirts usually don't have pockets and some women don't like hauling around a purse.

I wear them with out thinking, automatically.
The other day I began to look inside my closet and I discovered that i have two skirts that are confined to the darkest corner. I didn't even remember them.
Skirts and dresses are lovely, but trousers are so comfy and practical.
But for special occasion's I wear dresses, and I look smashing!

Sorry if this sounds crazy, but as women lead much more active lives these days, going to work etc its just more comfortable to dress for maximum mobility. Yes it may be nicer for men to look at women in skirts and dresses, but quite frankly, they do restrict your ability to walk fast and also, in cold weather it isn't very nice to have a breeze blowing into places you'd really rather it didn't.
Hope that clears it up for you.

Trousers are comfortable and practical especially in cold weather. Women don't have to dress to please you, you know!

I like to wear a skirt or dress when I am going to a party or I want to feel 'dressy', but for work I usually wear a smart trouser suit.

In hot weather linen trousers look & feel great, but long floaty dresses are good too.

So we don't look like the transvestites wearing the skirts and dresses! (Joke, Actually many of them are also wearing ladies trousers now)
Trousers are easier, but I still have skirts, dresses, for when I choose to wear them.
