In the TV show Bones, why do they call the people at the Jeffersonian "squints"?

They are called "squints" because the doctors/anthropologists squint at the info/evidence given to them. That's a good question, tho. Do you like Bones? Booth explained it in the first episode, when Brennan told him that she didnt know what "squints" meant, and he replied, "When cops get stuck, we bring in people like you. Squints, you know... they squint at things."
And Brennan replies "Oh, you mean people with very high IQs and Basic Reasoning skills"

So basically its a term that the FBI uses to describe the scientists because they are smarter than they are, and always looking(squinting) at the evidence

Booth explained it in the first or second episode, when one of the character asked him that question, and he replied, "Because you're always squinting at things." The nature of their work requires them to look intently at small items, thus squinting.

Sounds like abcool100 has a good answer. I really don't know the answer but it is one of my absolute favorite shows. The one this week was just so awesome it had me crying. It was a really, really awesome show. I wish I had recorded it so I could watch it again. I also think Angela is really beautiful. Would love to meet her in person. (just to visit with her)
