Well firstly I am an Aussie.
I have to say, they are very aggressive, and that comes across as arrogance. I think a lot of people whinge and complain about the way they play, but at the end of the day, they play hard but fair, and get the job done, which is why they are ODI and Test champions at the moment.
Having said that, the thing that occurred on the winners podium at the Champions Trophy was too much. It was rude and incomprehesable. I am not really sure what the players involved were thinking to be honest. However, the did issue personal and public apologies.
I am sure it was just an over the top reaction in the excitement of the moment, and not a true reflection of their character.

If you dont think you should win every game, I dont think you should play at all...
Trash talking is part of the game! It's all about unstabilizing your opponent! Trash talking won the world cup for Italy! Materazi was giving Zidane a lot of "S H I T" and for a split second he became infuriated and BAAAM! The momentum shifts towards the Italians( because of the infamous head-butt). I personally think the French had a better side and would have won the game had they not lost their leader...

Yeah the Aussies can have a bad attitude.
It makes me cringe whenever McGrath picks his bunnies and whenever I hear Shane Warne say anything.
But having said that, they are the best team in the world. They will smash the Poms 5-0 in the Ashes.

Hell yeah I agree. They're a strong side but they're bad winners too. They have gotten away doing a lot of unsavory things on and off the field. Most recent incident being pushing the Indian official Sharad Pawar off the stage.

I'm an Australian & agree. I think some of them go over the top. But then there are players like Gilchrist who are humble & honest. Wish the rest of the team was a little more gracious.
That being said, they can back it up by being the best team in the world by far. No question at all.

You don't get to the top of any sport without attitude, you need it to dominate your opponent. Sledging is part of the game of cricket, all sides do it.
