I have a 1989 chevy 3/4 ton diesel with a 6.2l in it and when i get in it and turn the key on the glow plug light says wait like usuall but it won't go off. How do i fix it, or whats wrong with it? Thanks

Could be the controler that is near the rear of the engine in the back of the left head. Be carefule when removing it as it is threaded into the water jacket in the head.It is about 5" long and has several wires plugging into the top of it. Also check for the fuse or fusable link that supplys the Glow plug circuit.

i had the same problem with my mercedes. I replaced the glow plugs and the light started working again and the car would start instantly. In my car , a couple of weak glow plugs the light will not come on.

Glow-plug controllercould be bad ,but if it malfunctioned it probably burned out the glow-plugs .Simple test to see if glow-plugs are bad,connect test light to positive batt.next unplug wires to plugs. touch test light to terminal end of glow-plug. If test light lights its good if not replace them.
