Hello, Glenn Kawesch here. We are building a structure and we are trying to estimate how many boxes of nails we will need. We realize we can take the unused boxes of nails back but now we just have a bet to see who is right.
Glenn Kawesch thinks: 200 nails
Billy thinks 1000 nails
Amy thinks 500 nails.
In a 5lb box of construction type nails ( 2.5 - 3 inch ). About how many nails is this?

There are 47 to 49 nail in a pound of 16d nails. In a five pound box there would be about 245 nails.
