The answer would be no. Your video card requires some memory, in order to function. Why don't you just purchase another 256 memory card, this will boost your performance. You can pick these up very reasonably either online or at best buy Circuit City or Staples, for about $30.

Yes you can! But the only way you can do this is if you installed an additional graphics card in the PCI (Peripheral Component Interface) slot (white slot) or in the AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) slot (black slot). So what you need to do is first get a graphics card, which may cost as low as US$30. Depends on what you're going to do with the computer, whether its gaming or internet or graphics development or just simple, plain word processing, you may want to upgrade your memory. I would encourage you to carry in your 256 chip and swap for a 512.

I assume you have a video card you use now. You can disable the built in video or unallocate resources for it in setup.
Disabling it in Windows won't help because the memory is allocates before Windows starts.
There should be a prompt saying to hit del or esc or something when you power up the computer that will get you into setup.

Sure you Can
Just Disable your Graphic Card from the MotherBord then you need to Buy or Hook up Craphic card on your " AGP or PCI EXP. "
this is only way to get the full memory on your PC

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
