Sometimes I have files and folders I cannot delete in Windows, so I go into the Command window and navigate to them using DOS commands and delete them the old-fashioned DOS way. It could be a pointer that is pointing to nothing as well, a file name without a file, and I think scandisk/defrag might help you there. Also scandisk has option to check for bad sectors (takes a loooong time). Good luck!

It is a bad sector on your hard disk. Sometimes when your hard disk laser cannot find the sectors relevance to the data, it cannot delete them although you can see it.
Solution: first try to turn off and on your computer. you best give it like 20 seconds in between.
If the problem is still there, try to rename it and then delete it
If the problem is still there, go for a Defragment. i presume you know how doing it
Good luck

try starting your computer in safe mode. sometimes that helps. otherwise, maybe the files have already been deleted.

maybe that the file you are trying to delete is being used. try chicking your task manager . close all the processes under your username except explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe.
if its still wont allow you to delete it, go on safemode.
