What about other health related fields like dental, optometry, pharmacy, etc....?

If you retake a class, as I understand it, the grade you get the second time around replaces your failing grade - schools may be able to see that you retook the class, but not what your original grade was. A lot of people retake classes just because they aren't happy with a B!

Yes, medical schools allow it as well as other health related fields.

Yes, the grade for the make-up class overwrites the old class. As long as you pay for it again they'll take it.
