It said on the first group interview that they only offer up to 13 hours a week for part time season jobs. I want more hours.

I was invited to a 2nd interview for a position in the Shoe Department, they say its good because you can earn comission of sales but I still dont think itd match a job that offers 25 hours part time.

Basically i want more hours than just 13. Is it possible at macy's? Or are they very limited? If theyre limited then I dont wanna work there.

Well, out of all departments, that is the most frantic. Perhaps, they can cross train you so you can get more hours in other departments??

Think about the benefit of employee discount for holiday shopping ;)

You should definitely attend the second interview with Macy's Shoe Department. 13 hours per week is better than no hours per week and still hunting for a job. I would recommend that you ask your interviewers about the possiblities for picking up additional hours. You may very well impress them with your willingness to work hard, but at least you will have an idea what their policy is on employees working more than the offered hours. Then you will have the information you need to make an educated decision about the position.

If you think you would truly enjoy working at Macy's (which has many benefits), go to the interview to see what they have in mind, and then graciously suggest that it would be an advantage to the store and to you if they would increase their offer of hours.
If they don't you've lost nothing by trying, and if you come across as an impressive candidate, they might find a different position for you that gives you the hours you want. Go for it. Try.

GO to the second interview! In interviews there is usually a time given for "are there any questions for me?" So ask them! I also loved the cross trianing advice- when you ask them about more hours you could even bring this idea up then! Good luck :-)

I am sure they would be happy to have you. most people want less hours, not more. If you offer more, i am sure they will be given.
