It's better for the cashier and the store if you don't get your cigarettes or liquor than they take a chance and get busted. Those fines are really high and also I've known of co-workers to be taken out in handcuffs for accidentally selling to a minor, or selling after the time limit. They'd rather deny than take the chance of getting in trouble.

No I couldn't cash a lotto ticket once. I look like I'm 12 but I'm really 21! If I were going on 28 I might take it as a compliment.

I live by the Mall of America and on weekend nights you have to be 16 to be there by yourself. I got asked for ID and I am 21!

I look young for my age and got carded all the time. I always carried my I.D. with me and took it as a compliment.

I was ID'd for smokes about a year ago. I'm 33 years old now. Take the compliments you can get. They might be all you get.

You shouldn't be drinking or smoking. It's going to kill you. Didn't you know that. Have you seen all the commercials? Did you go through DARE as a kid? Dare to make a difference, man. Dare to make a difference.

I could buy cigarettes when I was 16, and now I can't buy beer without ID.
It's a big crackdown, a modern day version of "Papers please."
