He hid the poison in his hand cream which he had been locked up with his belongings. He befriended a guard while he was there and manipulated the guard into getting him the hand cream. Thirty minutes before his schedueled execution he took it. The Army Lieutenant was Lieutenant Jack G. "Tex" Wheelis.

A capsule of cyanide was smuggled into his cell. Or possibly he had it concealed on his body all along, and after he had testified to the best of his ability----which was considerable----and had the judge of the trials scared that his words would re-inflame the German people who had survived, he bit the capsule lying down on his cot in his tiny cell, and died almost immediately.

He committed suicide in is cell by taking a cyanide capsule that was concealed in his ring.!!!
Refused to apologise to the bitter end for his crimes against humanity.!!!
According to him he only done what he believed in, so in his eyes he done nothing wrong.!!!
