Its not legal, and you could get caught.Go somewhere where you pay for your downloads,i-tunes or something,to be sure you aren't downloading files riddled with spyware

Nope it isn't legal and there is no such thing as a free and legal site. Any site that is free requires pirating. Now if you wanted free as in no fees to join there are some like that, proably most, but you still have to pay for the singles.

Yes, of course, it's illegal. But just because it's free doesn't mean it's illegal. You can't get movies free and legal, but you CAN get music free and legal. These are the sites I use:

http://stash.nugs.net/stash.asp
http://bt.etree.org

Check this out too (streaming media only, but tons of great stuff):

Just my two cents:

the record companies will never experience the bankruptcy. they´d already earned billion of dollars. They will not be feeling hungry until the next 7th generation. I blame them as a big swine in order to force all people for buying the cds almost everyweek.

I won´t buy any new cds every week.

just feel free to download !

Lots of misconceptions about "can't download free and be legal!"

Yes, you can.

But, I choose not to. WinMX rocks, and I recoup some of the money I blew on LPs, then 8-tracks, then cassettes, then CDs, of the same albums. Oh, at horribly inflated prices, I might add.

RIAA, KMA.

No such thing as a free lunch. Downloading copyright material without paying is illegal. Use torrents instead less chance of being caught.
