a sachet of actived charcoal ( the stuff for fish filters) it is cheap and available at most pet stores & pet departments in big block stores. what kind of smell? pet odor? foot smell? mildew? you should also seek out the source of the smell (if possible) & remove it.

Oh no, no window....well you can use a fan to blow some fresh air around the room and you can place fabric softener sheets around ( even place them in a trash can) that helps...But if you clean the floor regularly with a good cleaner or if the floor is carpet, use the novaccum spray it will perk it up for sure.

2 bowls of chopped onion, one in each corner of the room. Onion absorbs odours.
You also may care to identify where the bad smell is coming from, and deal with it at source... damp carpet, pet soiling... dead body under floorboards??

most likely something is dirty in that room, try to clean it up. Air out your home with door open, and use oust/fabreeze!
