controversies surrounding this amendment .why would some like to abolished or modified the 15 amendment?

I don't know... ideally, I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of qualification test to make sure you're knowledgeable enough about current issues to responsibly vote... 3-5 questions like, "Is the US part of the Kyoto Treaty?" and "Without looking it up in Google, what does the 15th Amendment state?" I know I'd probably fail at least one of those questions.

I had read a few months ago that some Southern states wanted a change in the Voting Rights Act, what part I'm not sure. They are under regulations that other parts of the U.S. aren't, mainly because of a history of preventing Blacks from voting (Poll Taxes, the "Grandfather Clause", etc.).

The 15th change to the structure granted African American adult males the right to vote through affirming that the "proper of voters of america to vote shall not be denied or abridged through america or through any state ensuing from race, color, or previous condition of servitude." I wasnt conscious human beings were attempting to abolish or regulate it?
