The most disturbing, horrific thing I could imagine is watching babies being tortured. Yikes.

difficulty for me is, there is no horror movie that induces worry in me, I hate it because i want to be scared, the really movie to ever make me experience uneasy replaced into Quatermass And The Pit and that replaced into made soooo earlier now. (oh and Watership Down, that black rabbit freaks me out!!) As for effecting peoples lives, no, do not purchase that, if some thing in a movie fairly outcomes someone that badly then they have severe psychological issues besides and if it wasn't the movie that offered them to the exterior then some thing else would have quicker or later. i'd say ninety 9% of human beings understand the version between truth and fantasy even as it is composed of video clips, the different a million% would want help in spite of if action pictures did not exist.

I think coming face to face with a serial killer, being tortured and raped, and knowing you are going to die would scare me the most. In cinema, this is portayed well in Silence of the Lambs, and Last House on the Left (though it was a group of thugs in Last House..).

For me, alien movies do it. Like the movie Signs for example. When I first seen that in theatres, that was pretty scary in my book.
I'm not one for bloody movies, I don't find that's what makes them frightening. It's the suspense, the dark corners and closets, the music, the twists, and storyline.
