Take a philosophy class. I have. Lots of ideas there.
But with all I've learned my answer is faith based.
We were created. So what do creations do? They glorify their creator. A portrait glorifies the artist, a sculpture the sculptor, and a music number the musician. So I was made to be a glory to God (according to my faith) There's more to it, but that's the gist of it.

I started with this, since I am very logical and can't stand things that make no sense at all.
There is one underlying energy in the universe. We have not found the smallest particle of it yet, but we know it is there. Everything is made up of clumps of this energy. Some clumps are bigger than other clumps.
Clumps of energy can be as small as infinity, or as big as infinity. Any clump of energy as big as infiinity would probably be self-aware, like we are. I call this energy God, or Life, or Love. But it is a very grand representation of all that is, which is the underlying energy.
We are all the same stuff, same energy, clumped differently. But, we all come from the same source and will end in the same source. We just take different forms.
Why would something made of energy, but self-aware, want to take physical form? For the experience of it! Man, being in a body, experiencing joy and hate and pain and pleasure! It's really cool! Unless you take it all too seriously.
So, point of view is important when living and deciding what is the meaning of life. Are you acting like the clump? or acting like the underlying intelligent energy? You get to choose from second to second who you are, and whether you will enjoy the ride, or make yourself ill with it.
Anyway, this kind of view of the universe removes a person from outside infulences, so, religions and political parties and all those other associations that want to tell who you are and what to think become unimportant. You get to decide everything! Including if you will play the religion game, or the fatwah game, or the Mother Theresa game.
So, go sit down, be quiet, and listen to that tiny inner voice that has all the answers. Be still and be found!
Namaste!

The meaning of life is ever changing for people because they grow and meet new people. You're not lost You're just don't know what your suppost to do with what you have right now. You could need to change you life meaning job or people you know so you can open new ways to look at things. You may not know now but give it time it will. Or lifes are always changing so let thing move and then you will know! Good luck

We should not take seriously all the hub bub about this life and
its meaning, it is not a test as all the zealots like to preach, but
an experience that will reveal it's meaning to you if you search.
Learning to become one with our universal God is a simple but
all inclusive act of surrender to peace and harmony in your life.
Knowing that God made you and in the Image of God, means
that the spirit of God dwells within you and that is where you
will find God and your purpose.

Love is the meaning of life. Not just romantic love.... I mean love of family, friends, your children, love your neighbor, love of all living things. I am not some pot smoking, vegetarian, tree-hugging hippy or religious fanatic either. (no offense to those who are.) I just know from once being lost myself and then finding the way.

If you're lost - maybe search for it yourself? You have the power to work this out alone, I am not going to preach anything to you.
For me, the meaning of life is love - of friends, family, partner, people all around you and all around the world. But it's something personal to me - only you can work out the meaning of YOUR life.
Good luck :)

The meaning of life is happiness and love and prosperity and these things you find through God. He holds the key to the purpose of you being here.

I personally believe that we are here to learn life lessons to prepare us for the next life . While we are here , helping others and loving our neighbors is a good start . Also to get in touch with out spiritual selves . { not religion }
And in touch with God through Prayer and Medatation .
