i need to write a myth to explain fate...and i have no clue what to write!?!

The Greeks had the Moirae, 3 sisters who "controlled the metaphorical thread of life of every mortal and immortal from birth to death, and beyond." Apparently even the gods were afraid of them. They were known to the Romans as the Parcae. The Germanic Norns were similar.

I believe the best idea is to see what is already out there in the "real Myth" world. Greeks had the Goddess Moirai. The Norns spin the threads of fate in Norse Myths. So check around and then if the assignment is to write your own try to make one wilder, but if the assignment is to write a paper on various myths find a couple or three and see what they have in common and write it out giving reasons for these beliefs.
I believe most people want a deity of fate because it removes from them the responsibility of their lives and actions.
