Get one of those "free trial" CDs--if you can't find one lying around, check on the internet and have them to send you one (like Earthlink, Juno, AOL, BellSouth...whoever you like.) That should be enough for one break.

Then make SURE you cancel it and trash all the files that it installed in your computer if you don't want it after that. Which might be a little tricky, since those files get stuck in there and don't want to budge. But they're a pain and take up space better used by other files (plus, they make it hard to install other stuff in their place and they tend to spread like fungus.)

I don't know about where you live but the library here has high speed internet access. The time in limited that you can be on the computer but all you have to do is go and sign up. It beats hassling with getting it set up for only a months use. Also, if you have a laptop and you have wireless capabilities, lots of places now have wireless internet access. If all else fails, ask a friend or family member that has it if you can use theirs.

How do you access the Internet right now? if you have cable or DSL right now contact that provider, some of them have dial up numbers that you can use on your account for when you are traveling. They might have a local dial up number for where ever you are going.

Do your parents or whoever you are going to stay with have Internet? if they have DSL or cable you can sometimes just tap into theirs with a network line and be ready to go.

If you are going to stay at a hotel look for one that offers free Internet access.

I would suggest that you try Juno or net zero, both of these have free trial offers. And their software is very easy to uninstall.
