I know someone who pretty much did the same as you. She didn't watch the final game because her favourite team--Germany--got kicked out. It was only the morning after, when she found out all that happened in the game that she was all: Oh my God! I can't believe I missed all the ACTION!
And all day she was mutter mutter about how when she got home she was going bathe, change, eat, WATCH THE GAME, and go to sleep. It was quite funny.

Well, I can think of something better--I watched the games I shouldn't have watched and didn't watch the games that I should've watched. For example, I watched Portugal-England and then didn't stay up for the REALLY good France-Brazil game. I didn't watch Italy-Germany then watched France-Portugal... sigh...

Well, yeah that's sad. But did you manage to catch it at all? They often show replays to make full use of the footage... poor you... If you did then it isn't so bad, still nothing beats watching it live. More suspense.

That's really sad. I don't even like soccer and I saw it! You missed a pretty good game. Why are you telling us this now when the world cup was like 4 months ago?

Not very sad. No one cares. No one ever will. Besides - it was just a G-A-M-E ! It wasn't as if your puppy got squashed between 2 elevator doors. Now THAT would be sad.
