It relies upon on the oil you take advantage of. the difficulty-loose 3000 mile oil replace has been presently stated to be a touch bit an overkill. Oil is a lot more effective than what it replaced into, maximum difficulty-loose kind names may be run for 5000 to 7000 miles now, and some man made oils may be pushed as a lot as and over ten thousand miles. You wont be hurting your automobile with some hundred extra or perhaps an further 1000 miles over the due date to regulate it as long as you take advantage of a severe high quality oil.

Oil changes can be done around 6000 miles if you use a good quality oil and up to 15000 miles if you use synthetic oil.If your engine uses oil and you have to add oil between oil changes that helps it last longer as your getting fresh oil mixed in.A transmission flush completely gets all transmission oil out and puts clean oil in if its done right. It should be done by an oil change shop that has the proper equipment. This should be done along with a transmission filter change if equipped. It should be done at 50,000 to100,000 miles depending on what the manufacture says.

As long as your engine is in good condition, you care and conscientiously drive it and is not subjected to abusive high speeds, then, I would say change oil when you have the budget. A car that has been driven with sufficient care will have better "inside" parts because it has not experienced stress with "hard" driving. I have a 1980 Ford Escort I haven't really changed oil according to schedule. Until now it still packs good power.
A transmission flush is a formula that sort of 'assures' the transmission is completely drained of fluid and dirt. I never used one.

being a mechanic and such...with high mileage you should really try to get the change done before you get to 5000...but if you dont drive more than 50 a day then not to worry... smell the oil when you check it...if it smells heavilly of gas do an immediate change.
as for the transmission flush no worries unles you are getting alot ofslippage while shifting.
hope this helps and happy holidays

Hi. You sound like me. My car is old too. :) Don;t worry about the oil change too much. But that may depend on how cold it gets where you live. You ought to have the oil changed from the "summer" weight of oil to the "winter" weight if you need to. I am not sure about the flush thing. You know you can go to one of those quick change places and maybe get a cheaper deal.
