Choose a long-wearing formula, and apply by “dotting liner
around the rim of eye rather than drawing a line. Set it with a shadow in a similar shade to increase wear.
Eye shadow creases if there is too much moisture on the eyelids. To avoid creasing, allow at least 5 minutes for moisturizer to sink in before applying eye makeup. Don't apply foundation to the eye lid. A light dusting of a translucent powder will also help absorb any extra moisture.

MAC makes a product that is specifically for this problem, its called a paint. You use it as a base so the eyeshadow is more vibrant and stays on longer. It comes in skin tones, or some beautiful shades if you want a different look.
Its a little pricey, but another good way is to use a eye pencil color (not eyeliner, like the cover girl eye slicks) and that helps shadow cling a little better.

I continually use an eyeshadow base which incorporates city Decay's Primer Potion, which in case you ask any female it really is savvy consisting of her makeup, she will be able to really propose this! I also use a touch bit creme shadow over it as quickly because that is dried so as that the interest shadow sticks more effective. It lasts all day for me, and that i have oily skin. also, make confident your brushes are sparkling! If i do not sparkling my brushes after some weeks, my eyeshadow starts to crease from the oils amassed contained in the comb. this stuff works with pressed shadows, free eye shadows, cremes, something. flow right into a Sephora and ask them for a pattern of it.

Yeah, dust with powder first. Put your eyeshadow on lightly by rubbing it in with your finger or a q-tip make sure it's even and light but where you can still notice the color. Than, put your eyeliner on over the eyeshadow so that helps keep it in place too. You're using a pencil I'm assuming?..Liquids dry fast to your eyes they're just harder to learn to mess with.

i apply my foundation, then powder, then with eyeshadow i use a base color for entire lid, then apply my colors. these are powder eyeshadows applied with a brush applicator. eyeliner just depends on the brand, and how long you are wearing. just all day long wearing cause eyeliner to smudge, but i know what u mean. it just happens. but good thing...the smudge of eyeliner is in...as long as it doesn't run way down your eyes like the emo look. good luck. hope that helps

i use liquid eyeliner, it dries so it doesnt go anywhere or smudge and looks a lot cleaner. (i started using it 3 days ago and everyone has been saying my eyes look really pretty) As for the eyeshadow, dont use the gooey-like kind. use the powdery stuff.

Always sweep a light, skin colored eyeshadow or powder base on entire lid before applying any eye makeup. Also if you have oily lids stay away from cream eyeshadow, use powder only.

this is gonna sound stupid, but after you've applied all your makeup, take an aerosol hairspray bottle, hold it 12 inches away from your face and spray a couple shorts sprays. i've done this for cheer competitions before and it really does hold your make-up in place. as far as the eyeliner goes, i've had the same problem for years and i recently started using waterproof mascara instead- take a q-tip or something around the size of a tooth pick and appy it gently to your eye. it won't come off once it dries unless you use make-up remover...

not sure about the smudging... but here is what i would suggest for the creases... put a dab of lotion on your lids before the shadow which helps keep it in place and also makes it last a bit longer...
