it is aspecific brand of an MP3 player. an MP3 player is a small device that holds a limited amount of music. music can be downloaded onto your computer, and then you plug in the ipod. it will put the songs onto the ipod so you can listen to it. it needs to be charged regualrly, like a cell phone
