I went with my partner only to see Michael perform. We are big fans and never have a bad word to say about him.

Who else was annoyed by the crap show put on and how we paid £200 to see him sing two lines.

When is he going to wake up and forget the kids on stage thing. I definatly think he was innocent but when is he going to quit the kids on satge hugging him etc. Its not cute its not cool.

He has a chance to reinvent himself and if last night was the start I am very sad to say I think it is over Michael.

Other peoples thoughts please, dont just slate him I want people who saw the awards......

I was at the awards with my Wife who is a big fan. I have respect for his music but am not a huge fan. I was right at the front of the stage in the standing area (only £40 for these tix! but it was an endurance test!!) and those 'kids' were at LEAST 15 or 16, most of them looked 18-20 so these reports of "kids" and "children" are very misleading.

I thought the whole thing was a shambles. We picked up our tickets at 3 and were directed to the basement where we were literally holed up in a corridor until exactly 7pm!! Our tix said doors open at 5.30 and stewards refused to answer the constant questions about when we would be allowed in. It was a complete night mare!!

The sets coming out, then being wheeled back in clearly showed no one knew what was going on! We were also looking forward to seeing Mary J Blige pick up her legend award and sing a medley of her hits but that went up in smoke. Even on the official WMA web site the Legend section is still blank. WTF!?!?!

I felt awful for the presenters and acts who had to endure being booed by Michael Jackson fans who just wanted to see him and no one else. I think they forgot it was an awards show and not an MJ concert!! These so called jacko fans are not true fans as I dont believe Michael would want his fans to be booing other performers. The later the performance the more they got booed and Rihanna got the worst brunt of it despite putting in one of the best performances of the night (next to Beyonce, of course!).

However, once on stage, there was definitely no jeering or booing of Michael in the area where I was standing so again, my experiences do not match those of the various reports saying there were.

It was always going to be hard for MJ to perform for the first time since you know what but I think the fact that the so called 'organisers' created such a chaotic and embarrassing show definitely would have added to his difficulties.

And what's this about the organiser's pulling the sound because the show overran past the noise curfew??? It was the organiser's fault and yet they made MJs performance look worse than it needed to be by pulling it on him. They claimed he had stopped singing but that was not true and even if it was, thats no way to end a show or treat an artist.

In summary, i think Michael performed poorly but given his personal circumstances and the shambolic events around him, he should be forgiven and given another chance to prove himself. The true flops of the show are Earl's Court and the organisers. This has put me off going to any Awards ceremony and any concert whatsoever at Earl's Court! They should be ashamed of themselves!!!

~Afraid I didn't make the night, but I wanted to.
~I agree with you. Think he was totally innocent in all that court case thing.
~If he was guilty - and had any sense - he would not be anywhere near children now. But he's just carrying on doing things with kids. ~He's just a big kid - who probably missed his childhood, and can't stop making up for it now.
~ Bit strange - but he's led a strange sort of life.
~ Shame about the recent event ~ & the fact that you were ripped off.
~ I also felt ripped off when I went to one of his concerts. Paid I can't remember how much for tickets - couldn't see a thing because there were too many people - couldn't move. My musical hero - and it was all a big dissappointment.
~ He's made some great music - is (or WAS) a good entertainer - dancing & all that - & I like him.
~... shame about the 'boat-race'!!

I went on Wednesday , and I cant belive your complaining about seeing him , Thanks to all the papers and press I doubt we will ever see him in public again now, cause of all the bulls*t , which is what it is. I dont no if you had ear plugs in but we were at the front and I heard him sing, I am gratful just to have seen him. And oh yea he was never booed, just for the record , every act that performed the crowed were screaming and chanting "michael" "michael"! Jackson was never booed of stage, But why dont the press print that Rihanna was!!!!? Never mind I love you michael!! And those who went just to see you no the press talk shite :-)
