No, that is national income not savings.

GDP is equal to all products consumed in the United States and produced in the United States, all investment in machinary, equipment, buildings etc produced in the United States and government spending in the United States and then exports are added and imports subtracted out. Money saved does not get included in this.

OPM is on the right track, but GDP is a measurement of national income -- it basically measures the goods and services produced within the US in a given period of time, whether those be sold in the US or exported to other countries (with a few caveats). It's not a pile of money that you can "put" somewhere.

i'd say put it back into the US. Into the Cities and towns that way it'll make more money.
