No.
Babies die from SIDS because of vaccines. The government is only trying to mask it by making parents scared of whether or not baby is sleeping on his back or tummy. It's all an ellaborate cover up.
50 years ago, before combo vaccines were given, incidences of SIDS in the USA were very rare. Now, with not only combo vaccines, but newborn vaccines as well, more and more babies seem to be dying of this mysterious illness, hmmm.

ETA: a previous poster said that SIDS babies die from suffocation from a blanket/mattress.....umm no. They actually have unexplained autopsies that show nothing other then the whole breathing/heart pumping function just shutting down, completely. Kinda like something that would happen after severe chemical overload ie:carcinogens and toxins directly injected into the bloodstream...ie:vaccines

I'm sure it could happen if the mother falls asleep as well. The reason the academy of pediatrics suggests that babies sleep on their backs on hard surfaces is because they have much smaller noses that can be easily blocked. If the baby is sleeping on the mother's chest, his nose could be blocked by the breasts or her shirt. I don't specifically know of any instances of death by SIDS because of this, but it is a possibility. I'd just be careful.

don't listen to that person saying SIDS is caused by vaccinations..cause its not....just don't lay your baby down on her stomach unless you are in the room with her..and if you lay her on her side put something in front of her to keep her from rolling onto her tummy

I suggest reading the articles linked below. If the mother is awake, she should feel the infant breathing. Prone positioning is not recommended.

If the baby is on his stomach there's always a chance of that happening. It's fine though if the baby is sleeping on your chest if you're awake and keeping an eye on them, just don't lay down with them on your chest and fall asleep yourself.

It is possible. It depends on the age of the baby, most infants do not have enough strength in their neck muscles to move their heads if they begin to suffocate.

not likely to die. and if she's on your tummy you can tell if she's breathing. some babies sleep better on their tummies, so much better that they might stop breathing if they were left alone. always put a baby to sleep in the crib on his/her back. but my baby loved to sleep on her daddy's chest. and guess what, she's still alive and kicking.

No, studies show sids is decreased in the presence of parents. co sleeping. IT IS NOT FROM VACCINES. vaccines prevent diseases that other wise may harm your child.
