its better to shut it down because the computer will heat up and the fan will kick on to cool it down and eventually the fan will quit running you can by new fans but id rather keep money and shut it down and when the computer gets hot it could melt the coding of of the wires and screw up your computer bad and also crashing the computer can also be hard on the computer go to the start menu and select shut down if u have mac click the apple and click log out then shut down once ur logged out if its only going to be like 15 minuets and your getting back on id leave it on but for like a day or two i would shut it down

I think it depends on your personal preference. I recommend to my customers that they shut their computer down when they're done using it. Your computer has moving parts, a hard drive and fans that run. You would never leave your car running in your driveway all night. Some people say that it's hard on your computer to turn it off and restart it. I say it's easier to fix an error that replace the hard drive.

In a perfect world, there is no reason to shut it down.
But programs have bugs, and memory leaks. So you should restart you computer now and again.

this really depends. if you are using a mac os x computer, putting it in sleep mode between uses is recommended. if you are running windows, putting it into standby mode is a good idea. if you know it is going to be awhile before you use it again, or if you have been on it for a long time, it's good to at least restart it every once in awhile (like once a day).

I have heard both ways. At work I leave my PC on all the time for upgrades. At home I turn it off when I am not using it.

i shut mine down.... it saves on energy for one and its better for the moniter... cuz the wall paper on your moniter wont get "burnt" on to the screan when you turn off your computer... if you want to keep it on just turn the moniter off when your done!!
