Nope. I've been hearing pie in the sky predictions since the 60s. By 2000 we were supposed to be living on the moon, having flying cars and picture telephones.
Disease and death will be around for a long time yet. Maybe one day both will be ended, but I seriously doubt anytime in the next 100 years.
Of course, I could be wrong. That'd be nice, huh?

It can never be the "future," because by the time it gets here it will be the present. Back in 1965, they thought the year 2000 was the future. now it's the past. See what I mean? The only way we can ever get to the "future" is if tiime travel is developed and we can transport ourselves 15 years ahead, and then come back and talk about what we saw.
If you're talking about the "future" like what we've seen on TV and movies, with the silver jumpsuits and flying cars, I think that probably won't ever happen. But if you're talking about the future, like legalized human cloning and curing cancer, I don't think we'll get to see it in our lifetiime.

By the time you have finished reading this sentence, something monumental will have happened.
Its the future!
As for when all this magical technology will finally be delivered, possibly never. Look back at science fiction: in 2001 a Space Odyssey they have interplanetary travel and supersmart computers. Instead, we got really cool cell phones and faster internet. Who is to say that those little computers haven't caused as big a change as HAL would have? We may never have Jetson's-style flying cars and robots. Perhaps we will invent something better and entirely unexpected!

answer to your first question: every moment right before the present moment is the future, but then it gets to that moment and it is the present, so the next moment is the future, and so on.
answer to other question: thats Bull.... in a way we are the future now... because back in the early 1900's people said that in the year 2000 we would be living on other planets, talking to aliens, and driving flying cars. well yea, we're pretty advanced, but i dont think we're that far. So by the time it gets to "the future" it will be the present, and so those people will think nothing of the advanced lives they are living.

The future will never happen. It is always NOW. This is possible NOW and it is happening.I can not comment any further as it will disrupt the balance of your grasp on reality. Just Know you will see the beining of the "New world". Long before 2020.

We never can enter the future because we would be in the present the only person who is outside of present past or future is G-d. No one else can enter the future when it comes it will be the present.
