The Colorado River has been dammed a lot and it's affecting the areas around it. Is that what you mean? Or do you mean polluted rivers? Like, when Lake Erie caught on fire?

The Amazon is being hurt by rainforest deforestation. Like, too much sediment running off from erosion, too much sunlight (from cutting down trees), maybe some fertilizer runoff.

Yeah, the Ganges is a total mess. It's so polluted--raw sewage, industrial waste...it's disgusting. I'd say you could find several endangered rivers in India.

Try China, too. They probably have some endangered rivers. Check around very industrial areas, places with stuff like nuclear plants or factories, textile or paper mills, stuff like that.

It depends a bit on the sense in which you mean they are endangered, I guess. I have interpreted it in a broad sense of losing the natural ecosystems.

Adding to the previous list, I have recently heard that China has plans to create a number of huge dams on the Mekong River which is creating concern in the downstream nations.

There are a number of rivers where efforts to control flooding have had a major impact on the natural ecosystems. The Snowy and Murray Rivers in Australia are affected by this, as is the Mississippi system in the US. Many Australian rivers also have a problem with increasing salinity levels.

The Darling River, the longest river in Australia is just about dried up because of drought and over use by irrigators.
It is part of the Murray Darling system and the only major river system in inland Australia.
100 years ago paddle steamers used to navigate the Darling River now you'd be lucky to travel up it in a canoe. Its like a muddy ditch.
