Okay, so is it known who was the first king of England?
Because what number would Henry VIII be? Thanks

and from that monarch, henry VII would be the 42nd monarch of england

They were Ethelred and Ethelbert or something I think. A good encyclopedia could tell you. German I think mostly. I think it probably depends on who you count. I think it goes back to like 1200 or so. Maybe he was 30th or something.
