In science class we are having a debate, on creation vs. evolution. I believe in creation, BUT WE WERE ASSIGNED TO DIFFERENT TEAMS, AND I WAS ASSIGNED TO EVOLUTION. I am a topic presenter, which means I am presenting the topics in the debate, and I have the biggest role. The only problem is that I'm a creationist, so I know nothing about evolution. Please give me some facts to prove evolution. Thank You!!!!

Every fossil, every observation in biology points to evolution. There is nothing that goes against it or points to a different way to scientifically explain modern diversity. There is not one fossil or one piece of DNA that does NOT point to evolution.
Creation relies on a lot of belief and the ability to dismiss all the known evidence, since ancient Greece to the present time, in the case for evolution.
Evolution, on the other hand, keeps presenting solid evidence, regardless of those who believe otherwise.

Here is a theoretical example of natural selection and adaptation.

Say you have an island, about twenty miles from any other island, where there is a species of bird, say finches. In any population of birds, there is going to be a variety of beak sizes and wing sizes, (like nose and ear size, and height variation in humans), suddenly there was a drought, lasting several years, and the main food source of the finches, say, sesame seed, was destroyed, and all they had to eat was wheat, which is harder to break and eat than sesame.
What characteristics would give one bird an advantage over another? Those with smaller beaks would have more difficulty cracking the wheat and feeding it to any baby birds, therefore they would have less live young. Those with largeer, stronger beaks would crack and eat more wheat and have more live young. Chances are, that their offspring would have, on average, larger, stronger beaks than those of small beaked finches. The stronger your beak, the more you eat, the more children you have.
So what other characteristics? Those with stronger, larger wings could try to find other food, but if they can't make to the other island, they die, those that make it to the other island, and if it has food, will have, on average, larger wings than those that didn't make it. They wil have more children, who, on average, will have larger wings.
These are simplified examples, it is more complex than this, but the basics are there.

Another, real life example is the Peppered moth.

This is evolution at work.
Read more about evolution, but do it with an open mind. It wiil be of no use looking at evidence if you have already decided to reject it. Remember, you are doing science, at that is what scientist do. The more you read, the more you will understand. Try "Origin of Species " by Charles Darwin as a start, or try Google for a summary.

Good luck to you.

Okay, we could anticipate that the Bible is write and in addition evolution. The Bible teaches that loss of life didn't input the sector till Adam ate the fruit, whilst guy first sinned. But wait. For evolution to arise there could have been plenty of useless animals and what no longer earlier than the primary sin. We have an obvious contradiction right here. Of direction your premise is that the Bible is incorrect, and good, there are a wide variety of clinical, archeological reveals and what no longer, that honestly aid the Bible. now we've got a brand new query. Where does all of this depart us?

What kind of science class would allow a debate between a scientific theory that has great evidentury support and a muddled creationist position. You were given a web site that should be helpful, but I do not think there is any help for a school that stages such a non-debate.

Matters not how we were "created". It's what we do while we're here that is important. But, study a little on evolution. Maybe it will expand your horizons a bit.

It's been awhile since I answered this kind of question but here it goes:

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails-That's what little boys are made of.

Girls are made from sugar and spice and everything nice.

Hope that helps......
