I am making a gift for a little boy who is part Native American, and I have found nice graphics with eagle feathers I would like to include. What I need to know... is there a difference between one eagle feather hanging down, and two eagle feathers hanging down? I like the looks of two, but if that is meant for girls or something I don't want to look like an idiot. Does anyone with Native background want to help me out please?

All I've heard is that for some tribes, partially the plains, multiple feathers is probably for multiple honers, most likely war honors. Likewise different markings on feathers and worn in different ways meaning different things as pertains to these honors.

Far as I know women did not originally wear feathers. I think the feathers they had were as a fan.

Or so I have heard, but don't quote me on it.

I think two means Mother and Father. Not entirely sure though. Check it out. I might be 1 or 2% native american. Maybe not at all though. I do feel that I am and would be VERY sad to find out if I am not.

Not sure what one means.

Maybe ask a native american person, there is a museum at the casino in CT.
