I know JS and VB, are there any others?

There are plenty of languages that can be used for client-side scripting - Python is one. However, you can't rely on it being installed on the user's computer - really, the only one you know will be there is Javascript.

That is, unless you know with certainty what system your users will be on - eg on an office Intranet, where you know all your users are using IE on Windows, you could use VBScript. Most of the time though this won't be the case so stick to Javascript.
