By the way, tRNA transports amino acids to ribosomes for protein synthesis, and is not protein but RNA

The membrane is made up of a bilayer lipid so charged (H+) ions pass through the lipid membrane by transport protiens that are attracted to a pair of electrons moving through the membrane if your asking about Cellular respiration

1. Ion channels
2. Ion pumps

These are both membrane-bound proteins. Ion pumps are more specific, and require energy to operate.
