None of my KIDS made minimum wage when they had summer jobs, so it will only affect us when prices go up because companies have to pay their workers more.
**they made more than the MW

No, I am not excited in the least bit. I started at my job above minimum wage and every year I get closer and closer to it. The problem is that most employers do not increase the salaries of their employees enough to cover the inflation cause by the increase.
I have worked at jobs that I felt that I should have been paid less then the minimum wage and gladly would have accepted less. In modern society a minimum wage is needed only in specific cases and should be left up to the local government, not federally imposed.

This would be a very bad idea in the long run. I see the point, but do yall see my point. -
It acts as a basic economy booster. BOOM More people have more money they spend more, helps the economy. After 6-8 months later, (some time later anyway) Everything else goes up to compensate for the increase in money on the market. The people who didn't get a wage increase hurt. Their wages didn't increase but their cost of living did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Increased minimum wage is not gonna help us a bit.
Employee is paid more and because of this pay his taxes are higher because he is in a higher tax bracket. This makes it where the working individual with a crappy job gets no benefits from welfare and higher taxes. Who recieves these taxes you ask? Lobbyist groups through their support of candidates that get elected. The lobbyist groups get favors and benefits such as tax exemptions and earmarks. This process inevitably makes the poor working person poorer and the fat cats in washington and businesses bigger. You have now become a slave.

If you're worth more money why don't you just get a better paying job? Too much effort? Unqualified? Better yet why not just pour a cup of boiling coffee into your own lap and sue ol McD` for a few million? After paying the lawyers you would probably have enough left to buy a brand new camaro, maybe even your very own escalade. Just think, you could cruise the trailer park with your bass thumpin the plates off the neighbors tables, you'd be so Kool!
Daz wat I'm talkin bout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are 40 years old and still working for minimum wage, then I would say you are either an illiterate retard or a liberal who is used to government handouts. But then again, you could be both.

You are not working for Minimum wage, if you were you could not afford a computer or even dial-up. Write a legitimate question if you are going to waste 5 points.

I'm not excited about it but the people working for minimum wage definitly deserve to get a raise. Why does it seem the people most against raising the minimum wage seem to be the people making over $60,000 a year? Greedy conservative Republicans all.

Any 40 year old making minimum wage is either an ex-con or an uneducated slug. McDonald's doesn't even pay minimum wage! They pay more.
