Get all the papers and boxes you can get! First pack the dishes and stuff you don't use that much and stack out of the way. Seal and label boxes for what room they come from.
Then pack up the closets and seal the top of the box with tape and label it.
Try having movers for large items. Back are awfully fragile.
When getting to new house stand at door, check boxes as they come in and direct to proper room.

Invest in bubble wrap for your breakables, its well worth the expense. Mark all boxes well with the contents and mark on them which room you would like them placed in, this makes it easier when it comes to unpacking them, if you have friends helping you also put a notice on each of the doors indicating which room is which, then there will be no mistaking. Use duvets and blankets to wrap around pc screens etc, just to be on the safe side. be ruthless when you pack, if you havent used something for months/years your not likely to use it in the future either sell it at a car boot sale or bin it! Hope the move goes well

Pack books and heavy things in smaller type boxes. when loading the truck heavy on the bottom pack it tight from the floor to the ceiling.
If you haven't pack and loaded a moving truck before you could at least hire a moving company to pack and load then on the other end you could unload and unpack yourself. My self this will take many headaches out of moving.
Or now that I see your only going 2 hours throw it on the back of a pickup and whip a couple ropes around your things and whiz back and forth till you get the job done...

I have moved more times than I care to count.
Use your linens and towels to protect breakables. Just wrap your dishes, glasses, knick knacks in the sheets, blankets, towels, and then pack them. Save time, boxes, and money.
Pack your clothes on hangers as they are. Just poke a hole in the bottom of a BIG garbage bag, thread the hook of the hangers through the hole, and tie the bottom shut. Stack the clothes up. when you get to the new place, just hang up and rip off the bad.
Rent a u-haul....it's worth it if you aren't using movers. One trip...on vehicle to load/unload.
