Am just about to take my BSL level 2 exam and Im looking for work in the deaf community.
Its like trying to get blood out of a stone.
Are there any deaf on this site?
Do you have any suggestions?

Take a trip to your local hospital and visit the Audiology department. If you was to ask them they may be able to advise you of any local organisation that would be able to use the Sign language skills that you have gained. Other than that try your local PCT (Primary care Trust) who may have a CDC (child developnet centre) this is a specialist center for chidren wth learning difficulties, including children who are deaf.

I sign, but I am only 30 % deaf.I began signing before my hearing problem. Go to your nearest deaf school, your local Courts, Special Ed Classes for the school Board, Group homes, Hospitals, Churches, I don't know what state you are from, but you must have your license first. I work in Special Ed, in Memphis Tn. we have 2 schools, that are primarily for the deaf, but , any student can have an interpreter in regular classrooms too.
They also hire interpreters because many children are coming into the public schools from other countries, now the children and the families have to be retaught to use American English Sign now that they are here in America because their homeland sign is so different from ours. But I would try your nearest School Board, That's where I started out at...... Good Luck
