The CSA flag is a flag foreign to most local jurisdictions. Most towns, as municipal corporations, are incorporated like any corporation with the state in which they are in. As such, the flags of any other state, the federal American flag and the CSA flag are all technically foreign to their own state and its' flag. Depending on the specific wording of their codes, regulations, policies and ordinances, such prohibitions may act to prohibit much more than they might otherwise anticipate. Remember, the CSA, just like the Ottoman Empire, the ancient Roman Empire, the Third Reich and the Soviet Union is equally foreign as it had its own system of government and state.

Mostly I think this concern about ANY flag is nonsense. Some say the CSA flag does carry some bad vibes if your ancestors were slaves in America. I have no reason to personally feel that way. Forget the flag and CHERISH the Constitution.

Confederate flag, Nazi flag, both symbolize a movement that tried to destory the United States of America. I have a problem with both flags seeing they represent ideas that caused the deaths of hundereds of thousands of American lives each. What really bugs me is the the southerners who fly the Confederate flag think they are such good patriots, yet it was their ansestors that tried to destroy the United States of America. Well, that's where the heart of the Republican party is also. Figures.

I don't know where you are form but it is STILL a southern thing. I live in South Carolina and it is still a symbol of the south here. To me people have MADE this a racial issue. But most of the people that recognize the flag know that it represents the confederacy. And is one of the resons why I'm proud to be a Carolina Girl! Oh and by the way the Confederate flag IS NOT a foreign flag!

Everyone in government is trying to be politically correct. That's another term for "too weak in the backbone to stand up for your rights and beliefs".
People in this country died for and against that flag. That flag was not flown just for slavery, it was flown for states rights. People today only think of slavery and not the other issues that caused the war.
If people choose to fly the Confederate flag, they have the same right to do so as those who choose to fly flags of any other country.
Living in this country, we have rights to believe what we wish, to live where we wish, to worship, or not, as we wish. Individuals do not have the right to dictate to the majority what we can and cannot do.
That said, the Politically Correct thing to do is allow the individual to dictate to the majority and apologize for being in the majority.

This is a free country! Just yesterday some states tried to pass laws that it's illegal to speak anything but English in their towns and illegal to fly any but the American flag. They lost. Thank God! Think about it, the first amendment to the Constitution! Freedom of speech! If we keep letting them chip away at the right to express yourself we will not have " liberty for all". The American flag should always fly higher to show respect for our great nation though, or LEAVE and go to the nation you are showing reverence for!!

So, you see one flag in a trailer park and conclude that no one has a problem with it?
LOTS of people have a problem with it. Pin a confederate flag badge on a shirt and walk into a predominantly minority church or neighborhood, especially in the south and see how much love you get.

WHy shouldn't they be allowed to fly it? Because of some political correctness than no one ever be offended by any public speech?
Get everyone to not use the N-word and I will support banning the Confederate flag.

The Confederate flag has US history, I guess. Personally, I find it offensive, but what am I to do about it? Looks as though anyone can sail whatever flag they want.
