Factor the numerator.
n^3 - 27 is a difference of cubes.
n^3 - 27
= n^3 - 3^3
= (n-3)(n^2 + 3n + 9)
You can cancel the (n-3)'s leaving you with
n^2 + 3n + 9

factoring: (n-3)(n^2 + 3n + 9) / (n-3)

then: n^2 + 3n + 9

Cancel one (n-3) from below and above

now remanes (n-3)(n-3)
which equals to

n^2-6n+9
