Raise temperature, change the product, add a bit of salt from the fish store. Clown Loaches don't have scales so they're very sensible to ICH, it might die if you don't act quickly.

Hi there. Sorry to hear your poor fish have come down with white spot. I have had it in my tank before and found that advice differs from shop to shop. The best advice I can give you is to get a treatment called 'W7'. It turns the water completely blue which will show up all of the white spot on the fish that are affected. Now the next bit of advice is not guaranteed to work but wont do any more damage to the fish. Keep the temperature as high as possible in your tank, but turn the light off, as this encourages the parasite to roam and lay more eggs which can multiply up to a 1000 times in a few days. Only then are the parasites susceptable to the treatment. Turn the light on to check the fish now and again, but try to keep activity to a minimum as stressing them out will make them weaker and the parasite can take a greater hold on them. Treat as instructed, usually for 3 or 4 days. If you don't see an improvement, let the tank 'rest' for a day, then repeat the dose. I hope this helps. Good luck!!!!!

Ich looks like the fish was sprinkled with salt. If that's what yours looks like, then it's ich. If that's the case, first you need to SLOWLY raise the temp in your tank to about 82-84 degrees. Do not add salt, clown loaches are scaleless and do not tolerate salt. Also, not sure on the meds you used, but a lot of those meds are not safe for scaleless fish-it will burn them. One that I had used a while back that was safe for them-at 1/2 the dosage was called Formalin. Do a water change and add some carbon to the tank to remove the meds in there currently. Also be sure to remove the carbon/filter from the tank when you add the meds.

Your local retailer will let you know the best medication to use but be sure to tell him you have clown loach, Because they are whats called scale-less fish some treatments can kill them. Once you have got rid of it bury a copper coin under your gravel and leave it there. Whitespot cannot tolerate copper. I did this several years ago and have never had it since, even with new fish which are more likely to get it through stress. (Best treatments are either WS3 which is made by king british or ESHA exit) Good luck.

I have treated virtualy every fish disease by seperating the fish from the rest of the tank and by placing it in water with just a little salt and a little drop of Whiskey. I kid you not. This works a treat.

Are you talking about "ICH". It looks like little white tissue sticking on the fish. There are some ich drops you can buy in the store. Just drop some in the water.
