with or without the memory card, but it will play on two of my friends PS2 and it is the only game that will not work on mine what could be the problem. any ideas?

I know the feeling ! My GT 4 will no longer play on my ps 2 either. In fact several of my games will no longer load/play on my ps2. I get one of two messages when I insert my games: !. Disc read error or Please insert playstation format game !
Best you can do is call sony at: 800-345-7669 and explain your problem ! If you do not want to wait on a repair, you'll have to buy another ps2 console !

I don't know what it is but gran turismo is always a problem on the ps2, it tends to load after a while, if it doesn't work after a while there is probably something wrong with the disk, maybe it has been warped or something, not sure hun, but the sounds of it you need a new disk!

not all gmes run on all ps2....resident evil 4 does not run on my ps 2, i hav changed this cd 4 times but no use...., maybe thats the problem, if any of your friend has a ps2 try running it on ur friend's ps2....if still theres a problem then you need a new disk

the only different platform that should REALISTICALLY run GTA4 is the laptop. it would not marvel me in the event that they launch it for the laptop in the subsequent 12 months or so. yet don't be shocked in the event that they do no longer. :(
