I would get your ducts professionally cleaned and replace carpets if the smell is not coming out with baking soda and vacuuming or professional cleaning. Also Renuzit makes a citrus spray that works wonders on smoke smells, but it could be in the dry wall and then you might have to paint over with Kilz or another sealer so that the smell can not seep through... Good luck!

Sorry, it's in the drywall at this point. If she was a heavy smoker, for years and years, it's gotten into the wood and drywall. You could maybe try getting your air ducts professionally cleaned. But I think you are stuck with the smell. That is one of the reasons no one wants to buy a house from a smoker.

Are you sure it's cigarette smell after 3 yrs? Try using pottpuri pots but put vanilla extract in them, one in each room. Vanilla is a natural oder absorber.
Hope this helps!

Don't know if this will work on old smells, but place a few small bowls of vinegar around the house. Hope it helps!

open all windows, doors, and air it out for a few days. i recently fried some fish and shrimp in my apartment(which is small with no kitchen window), and the smell lasted for 2 weeks. I finally aired my house out over the weekend, re-washed all the linen/clothes, and used Febreeze EVERYWHERE!
