Well, I'm a Capri and my sweetheart, husband and king is a Libra. I personally thing we are a match made in heaven. I'm serious. And, though siennablue gives lovely details of why this should or shouldn't be true, and though I actually don't think our moons are "perfect" for each other (though our ascendants work well), we have worked into a state of bliss. We just celebrated 14 married years last week.
In my personal opinion, astrology doesn't tell you if you will be "good" for one another, it gives you a tool to see yourself and/or someone else unconditionally, and non-judgementally.
"Can this work" depends on the people in a relationship, it takes work, work it. Be happy.

This is not the most comfortable combination in the Cosmos for several reasons, but that doesn't mean the two of you can't learn to get along and love each other dearly. In fact, when the two of you learn to appreciate and respect each other's strengths and weaknesses, you both can be much better people. It will just take patience and understanding, and perhaps a well placed Moon and Ascendant Sign!
Ruled by pleasure-loving Venus, Libra is concerned with proper social etiquette and refined manners. This suits you just fine, as Saturn encourages you to display the utmost propriety. Libra (the exaltation of Saturn) is the sign of balance and fairness, which also sits quite well with you. In fact, there are many reasons for you to enjoy your Libran lover's company! The problem arises when, as Cardinal Signs, you discover that you both want to lead. This could get messy, because you have completely different ideas about what the best way to move forward is. You'll have to learn to appreciate the different ways in which Libra gets the job done, and in turn, he or she will need to appreciate your personal techniques.
Libra, an Air Sign, likes to live high in the clouds -- high above Earthy Capricorn. Libra is fascinated with ideas, but you insist on concrete, material evidence: if you can't touch it or see it, what use is it to you? Libra may frustrate you with that infamous indecision, forever waffling back and forth in a sea of pros and cons. You, on the other hand, make up your mind and stick to your guns... and if your guns should happen to be wrong, you will have a very hard time accepting it. You can help Libra be more decisive, while Libra can help you tolerate the fact that sometimes choices are not always very clear.
This can be a difficult partnership but can work well, especially when harmonious Moon and Ascendant aspects exist. Although the two of you have very different temperaments and motivations, you can learn to work together in a productive and meaningful way.

Capricorn/Libra
This is not a classic astrological combination (your Sun signs are in a challenging aspect to one another), but because you share some interests, you might be able to make this work if you try. You two may have other planets in your charts that relate well to one another.
Both of you like a busy social calendar and both of you have plenty of energy, although your Libra will want to go out more than you do. Libras know just about everyone on earth and will introduce you to some amazing people. As a Capricorn, you are always looking to widen your circle of friends and contacts, so you will enjoy this quality. Your Libra lover is the essence of diplomacy and charm, an asset to you when he or she tags along with you to business functions.
Capricorn and Libra are cardinal signs, so you both are pioneers and like change. Venus-ruled Libras show their strength subtly. By use of their substantial charm, Libras have been known to be the power behind the throne.
If you experience difficulties, it will come when your Libra complains that you are away at the office too much. You may respond to your Libra that you are contributing to his or her lifestyle by earning a good living, and he or she should be more understanding. Libras are so good at networking that your sweetie might show you how to get ahead without so much sweat. Libras know how to use their charisma in any situation! Still, you might begin to wish for a more self-sufficient partner and ask yourself, "Why does he (or she) always need me there?" But Libra is the sign of partnership and marriage, and they feel incomplete without a mate to interact with on a regular basis. But since they like being married, your Libra would not leave you unless the relationship took a radical nosedive.
Another problem is that Libras are not as practical or grounded as you. You're focused, ambitious and determined. Your Libra partner may seem scattered and may not share your need for a strong, stable base. You may feel that he or she refuses to apply his or her ample talents. In time, when life inevitably adds more responsibility to your shoulders, this could frustrate or even anger you when you find you are carrying too much of the load.
Sexually, you are very much in touch with your body. While Libras are more intellectual than physical, you can bring your lover to your level of enjoyment. Good sex won't be a problem! Libras are known for keeping their good looks up far into old age, so you need not worry that your lover's appearance will decline as time goes by. And even after you're long wed, your Venus-ruled lover will continue to flirt with you and keep the fire of your heart burning bright.
This match gets a 50-50 chance of success, mainly because the Sun signs are at an obstacle angle to one another. The answer is to go slowly and get to know your sweetheart well. If after time, you decide your Libra is the one for you, proceed! You may have the right planets in your individual charts to outweigh these drawbacks!

What's the best aspect of the Leo-Capricorn relationship? It's their devotion to handling the task in front of them. Both Signs have strong personalities, and though they may at times seem an unlikely pair, this is a case of opposites attracting. This duo has a good time with one another, and this facet of the relationship keeps them wanting more.
When these two Signs work together on a project or a problem, it works best if they have pre-set roles to fulfill, as they both like to take charge. Once their expectations are defined, their approaches are once again quite different: Libra is pondering and intellectual, but Capricorn sees the value of doing things the hard way if it leads to certain success. Once the partners understand each other's style, their methods help them to achieve together what they could not achieve alone.
Libra is ruled by the Planet Venus (Love) and Capricorn is ruled by the Planet Saturn (Karma). Venus is a soft, receptive, feminine Planet, while Saturn is cold, hard and masculine. These Planets don't have much in common so it's important for Libra and Capricorn to work through their differences. Venus encourages Libra to slow down to take in the beauty and romance life offers; this can come across as laziness to Capricorn, whose Saturn influence lends them that dogged determination to push forward against all odds and succeed at the goals they set for themselves. These two Planets can work at cross-purposes, creating antagonism, strife and repressed emotions unless Libra and Capricorn make a concerted effort to understand and accept one another's focus in life. Capricorn must take care not to discourage Libra from their natural enthusiasm and optimism, and Libra must put their natural diplomacy to use in order to maintain balance with Capricorn.
Libra is an Air Sign and Capricorn is an Earth Sign. Libra relies on their intellect in life; their sensibilities are attuned to aesthetics, a subject on which a true Libra always has lots of opinions. Capricorns rely on brain power as well, but of a different sort; they search for the pragmatic method in all they do, and may not feel they have time to dabble in aesthetics. If these two can learn to work as a team, they could form two sides of a coin, so to speak.
Libra and Capricorn are both Cardinal Signs. Both Signs are initiators, but they have such widely varying work ethics that they work better when they each have a particular, well-defined role. When it comes to conflict, Libra will be the first to back down, which will appease Capricorn (who likes to be right!). It's important for both partners to understand that compromise is they key to their success.
What's the best aspect of the Libra-Capricorn relationship? They each bring their own qualities to the relationship. Once they allow one another to be themselves -- rather than getting in one another's way -- they can blend well to make a whole. Theirs is a challenging relationship, but they can learn from each other if they maintain the effort.

I think these are two are a very bad match. Libra is sociable, fickle, indecisive, and odd at times, and capricorn is disciplined, serious, conventional and thrifty. They are too opposite for a relationship to actually work out and thrive, but like u said, the sex would be explosive.
