As is the world population is increasing at an alarming rate. The world's resources aren't increasing either. Shouldn't we discourage large families at least for a short period of time say 50- 100 years? I am not arguing for policies like in China, but to stop tax breaks for families with more than two kids.

Why do people immediately think it is unethical to be against large families? Reproduction is a right and responsibility of the parents, not some favor done to the rest of the population who are least concerned if you have kids or not

Right on! I feel the same way. I have one child and most people think I'm stupid for not wanting 3 more. i think that for a person to have 2 children is more than sufficient! Almost everything is set up for families of four. Of course, having children is a personal choice. if you choose to have 5 kids, you shouldn't be able to suck more out of the government and get welfare just becuase you can't stop screwing.

There shouldn't be tax breaks for large families. In fact, this seems counter-productive to dealing with the increasing population. The tax payers shouldn't carry a larger burden because a family was irresponsible about the number of people they brought into this world.

some countries want to encourage population growth. others have to try to slow it down. all in all, it is inevitable, but yet necessary. no easy answer. tax breaks for families are there because less resources are used up when living together. one heater keeping 3 people warm uses less resources than 3 heaters keeping 3 people warm. peace.

Tax breaks are just bones thrown to people to think they are getting something. All a tax break is is paying back to you your money that should never have been extorted to begin with.

The government is going to give you nothing. It is time to remove tham and start over. We don't need them and their IRS.

The world population problem is not a US/ West problem, it is a Third World problem, and those people are recipients of US taxpayers generosity, so speak to them.
